Accommodation

We went on a Pangolin photographic safari so were accommodated at the Pangolin Chobe hotel. Accommodation was comfortable and the food and service of the hotel staff as well as our photo host was exceptional. The price tag is fairly high but is all inclusive and a really special thing to do if you can afford it. There is an underground hide at the hotel which is on eye level with a small waterhole.

Pangolin also have a houseboat possibility which could also be a lovely experience for a few days with a group of friends and with a photo host or for a special occasion. The photo boats are fully kitted out with camera mounts and have bean bags on the side of the boat as well so you can get right down to eye level with your subject. They will also provide a good quality Canon camera and a 150-600 lens if you do not have your own.

You are able to easily visit the Victoria Falls for a day’s outing whilst at Chobe

There is a lot of accommodation and similar safaris available on the Chobe.

Photo opportunities

The opportunities from the photo boat were fabulous and also the possibility for the guide to beach the boat close to Elephants / buffaloes / crocodiles and other mammals etc. was memorable.

Many bird opportunities really close up. – Water birds – kingfishers, pygmy geese and the African fish eagle from the photo boat

In the early morning photographing the African Jacanas in the water lily pads
