Old railway stations

Old railway stations

One of the saddest parts of South Africa's infrastructure collapse of the past three decades must be the railway system that used to be of the best in the world at the time. The most structures are not visible anymore but on major routes the skeletons are still visible, and these skeletons speak loud and clear to the soul of the photographer. Capture them listen to their  stories and share with the world.

Leeugamka

Leeugamka is located on the N1 and the station is visible from the Main road. There are great photo opportunities if one walks around next to the tracks. One can literally feel the people waiting on the station dressed up in the late 1800's in the minds eye.

Prince Albert

Prince Albert station is another station further north on The N1 that has a rich history of World famous persons that made use of this station. The frames and walls have been painted not too long ago and make for good images.
