The Roggeveld Karoo region is one of the top locations for diverse landscape photography as well as astro photography.

The Karoo has more landscape photo opportunities than most regions in South Africa. The Roggeveld Karoo can be one of the best regions of all of the Karoo regions. It is also one of the most rewarding photographic safaris in South Africa. Problem is very little photographers use it as a destination, but rather a stopover and it is my calculated probabilistic outcome that that is about to change even. There a spots like this image that one would never have predicted that it was the Karoo, that looks almost out of place and not really what one is looking for or expect that surprises in the various Karoo regions. It takes decades to discover the hotspots. This is once again the Roggeveld Karoo during my astro/ landscape safari. When it rains like during capturing this image the Lilliputian streams or small rivers that are dry for many years have caused many deaths as they become killer rivers within 30 minutes.
