Easy access – turn off the N3 at Heidelberg

Small entrance fee – I think it is R30 (was previously free of charge). No need to book .You can get out and walk as there are no predators in this reserve.

Accommodation

None that I am aware of in the reserve. There could be some close by however. Clean picnic spot and there are toilets at the many hides

Highlights / photo opportunities

Is a wetland – so many water birds – including flamingoes – herons, marsh owls – kingfishers – including malachite and half-collared kingfishers - swallows –and even otters if you are lucky? . Photography from the hides is good
