Every year between July and October the greatest flower display on earth, changes the otherwise desert like landscapes of this part of the Northern cape into a magical fairyland triggered by a untold number of climatic conditions.

Although the Namaqualand heartland lies about 5 hours north of Cape Town, flowers can be seen from just outside Cape Town and Postberg in the West coast national park, Citrusdal, Clanwilliam and Nieuwoudtville.
